Overview

Of the purpose of this blog, and the initiation of our Official Vimeo Channel this year (i.e. 2013), is to provide an alternative for youtube for residents of countries where it has been blocked. It should be noted however that although this aims to provide viewers mainly from Pakistan, Bangladesh and other countries as an alternative to watch Islamic lectures from YouTube, we are still in the initiation phase of uploading the videos to our Channel.

Technical Limitations

A major issue which has limited our capability to upload several videos daily, is the maximum storage capacity of 500 MB per week, imposed by vimeo. As a result we are only restricted to the upload of a about 1 or 2 videos each week. Nevertheless, we are striving to determine better ways by which we could enhance this or possibly switch to a different area or Channel later Insha Allah

Given below are the list of topics which would be uploaded to our Channel, please visit this page regularly to see updates to the section below,

1. Wajdi Akkari

Therefore spread this page amongst your friends and colleagues in Pakistan, Bangladesh and any other location where people may benefit, as not only an alternative to youtube in Pakistan, Bangladesh etc, but also as a Halal Alternative For Youtube which is restricted purely for Islamic content

Lesson 1

Lesson 3

Whenever you read a word in the Quran, it has to belong to one family. In all of Arabic there are only 3 giant families, each of which has a name. Let say for example they are,
Category A - Ism
Category B - Fearlyn
Category C - Harfun

Harfz is a word which makes no sense, unless another word comes after it
Example - Imagine I get off at the airport in a City in Chicago and I stop a taxi. The taxi driver asks, where do you want to go and I say, "to". He looks at me again and I say, "I told you earlier, to" Then he asks me to give more information than to, and I say, "at". In English these are called prepositions

Fearlyn is a word that is either stuck in the past tense, present tense or future tense
Example, the word traveled. This is past tense
I am riding, present tense
These are called verbs

Ism means a lot of things, including Person, place, thing, idea, adjective, adverb and more
This lamp is weird
Husna is a beautiful girl
That's a beautiful house
museum, school, house, marker, lamp, TV, camera
Ideas anger, happiness, sadness in English its called infinitive
adjective strong, boring
adverbs silly, happily, angrily

Ism has four properties

Ism is like the tyres of a car, it should have equal size, space etc. When you look at a car you can tell its four tyres, similarly when you look at an ism you can tell its 4 properties
1. Status
2. Number
3. Gender
4. Type

1. Status

I was eating too much chocolate
My tooth began aching
My dentist gave me a root canal

Although the words I, My and me refer to the same individual, you cannot interchange the words amongst each other as the sentence wouldn't make sense
Think of each sentence as a story, and in that story you are trying to figure out who is the most important character. The most important character is the one who does something.

Three types of status
1. Doer (Rauflyn)
2. Detail   (nashr)
3. After 'of' (jahr')

Example, The Messenger of Allah taught us
Doer: Messenger of Allah
Fearlyn: taught

Our parents will pray for our success

Who gave the root canal?
Who did he give it to?
What did the dentist give me
Whose dentist was he?
The After 'of'  has nothing to do with the fierlyn

After the recent success from the ACJU Halal issues, the bodu bala sena is presently engaging in the eradication of the Muslim woman's attire by organizing a campaign sooner this month. Ven Kirana Vimalajothy Thera who happens to be the co founder of the Ethno Religious Fascist Organization mentioned that the BBS would initiate this campaign on or before March 31st 2013, by protesting against the commonly worn dress of the Muslim women in Sri Lanka nowadays.

It is known that further information about this campaign would be discussed at the upcoming Mass Rally in Kandy this week. It is proposed to be held on the 17th of March 2013.

Although Vimlajothy Thera mentioned that he was quite happy regarding the decision of the ACJU with regards to the abolishment of the halal certified logos on domestic products, he further emphasized that the halal certification should be totally ridden off from this country. Although the ACJU has already decided to issue these certificates free of charge, and only for manufacturers who request them. Even so, the certificates would only be provided and used for the export market essentials and would not be present for local consumption. Throughout several outstation areas, the Bodu Bala Sena has lit crackers in order to celebrate their victory with regards to this halal issue, out of which most of these celebrations were held near Muslim owned businesses.

Despite the fact that the ACJU has compromised on the issue of halal certificates locally, the Bodu Bala Sena, is yet to commence their next round of action against the attire of the Muslim woman. Although many Muslim women wear different kinds of clothing, the dress which has caused them most distress is the one which covers the entire body of the woman. Some of the terms used with regards to these clothing include,
Scarf - The garment worn to cover the head and the bosom
Niqab - The face veil
Abaya - The outer garment / cloak worn over the entire body

Presently, the Bodu Bala Sena aims to get rid of the Abaya, which is the garment that covers the entire body.  The campaign plans to demand the Muslim woman from wearing the abaya in public as they claim it,

"hurts and affects the sensibilities of the non Muslims"

As with the case of the Halal dilemma, they use the same logic that it accounts to 91% of the Sri Lankan population, and thus it should be banned.

With the full support of Gothabaya Rajapaksa, who is the secretary of Defence and Urban Development, the BBS has proudly begun the multi-faceted anti Muslim campaign. Furthermore, this campaign was initiated under the slogan of "opposing Halal Certification" from the country

A common means by which these individuals and others such as the General Secretary Ven.Galaboda Attha Gnanasera Thera, imposed against this garment was by ridiculing the wearer and even the clothing itself. Of these insults, it was heard that the Bodu Bala Sena referred to such women as, "Goni Billa", which when translated into English means a scary person in a sack.

Although it may seem that the majority of the Sinhalese Youth wouldn't agree with the actions of the BBS in this regard, it was found that they have in fact managed to convince several of their youth towards this philosophy of the eradication of the Muslim woman's dress. Recently it was found that even one of the grand niece of a Veteran political leader (who happens to be a Muslim) was yanked upon on a public street in broad daylight.

Furthermore, it came to our notice that three girls from Dikwella, Mahaname bridge at the Southern Province were slightly injured and attacked only because they were wearing the abaya. When this incident was reported to the police, it was mentioned that they cannot do any remedy towards this action because there were no eyewitness reports to prove the incident.

Eventhough the formal commencement of this Anti Abaya campaign is schedules to be on the 17th of March at Kandy, the BBS have already begun pasting posters throughout various parts of the country. The majority of these posters even contain vulgar, crude words which people generally do not like to say.

An amazing point which should be taken into consideration here is that the secretary of defence, Gotabaya Rajapaksa mentioned to the All Ceylon Jamiyatul Ulama that the Bodu Bala Sena would not engage in any anti Muslim campaigns if the Halal certification process is abolished. This was a crucial factor which was taken into consideration by the relevant individuals of the ACJU when deciding to get rid of the Halal labels from the local market. This clearly shows us that the BBS are not truthful to their words and do not even stick to their policies and treaties.

Is It Alright To Refer To The Quran As, "Holy Quran"

Overview

It is a common misconception amongst many Muslims that they refer to the Quran as being "Holy". Although we don't deny that the Quran certainly has attributes of holiness, yet there are two main reasons for which we should avoid using the term Holy Quran. They are,

1. The Quran itself does not refer to itself by its name, as Holy Quran. Rather it refers to itself as the Noble Quran, The Glorious Quran etc, but never as Holy Quran

2. When the christian hears us calling it as Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet, they would assume that just as the Holy Spirit, we Muslims also have an act of worship or ibadah towards the two. Therefore it would increase the misconceptions which non Muslims may have towards the use of this term

Islamic Nasheeds Reminder Note

Introduction

It is very common nowadays to hear "Islamic Songs" under the brand name of Nasheeds, even if it contains elements of Music in them. Although this is more common and even becoming an integral part of the Sufi Culture, more youth are getting involved in it to such an extent that you have fully identical "Islamic Music Bands", covered under the umbrella of "Halal Nasheeds"

The Less Dangerous Part

Some Arabic and English Nasheed Groups that do not contain any Music in them, include bands such as Zain Bhikha, Ahmed Bukhatir etc. Nevertheless, these too fall into the category of singing, which is also prohibited except on special occasions such as weddings etc. Even so, it should be done only amongst the ladies and by a young girl.

Example of a Real Halal Nasheed

Check the post below, for an example of what a halal nasheed was considered previously,

How Muslims Slaughter Animals

This is a very common misconception and false rumor spread online, that Muslims are the most barbaric and uncivilized individuals when it comes to slaughtering animals. As a result, most people assume that halal meat should be boycotted because animals go through immense pain during the slaughtering process.

However the truth lies on the contrary, as the Islamic method of slaughtering an animal is the most merciful technique which causes minimal pain to the animal.

New Newsfeed Coming Up In Facebook

Despite the repercussions which people often have whenever Facebook makes any minor or major change to their layout, the motive of Facebook remains the same. "People would begin to accept and adapt to the change as time goes on"
For instance, as soon as the timeline was introduced many Facebook Users were complaining about the flaws of the timeline and the benefits of the old profile format. However, nowadays almost every Facebook user loves the timeline more than anything else.

As such, the advent of the latest modification of the Facebook Newsfeed too surprises a lot of its users, however it should be noted that unlike with the timeline, this time most people are eager to see it on their homepage!

The benefit which the upcoming newsfeed would offer are,
1. Content Highlighting - Includes photos, articles, shared stuff etc
2. A separate section for photos shared by pages and friends

The issue of Celebrations in Islam

This is a very important issue which needs to be addressed as many of the Muslims, especially the youth engage in various acts of bidah and even shirk either with or without proper knowledge regarding it. These celebrations that they engage in could be divided into two categories, 1. Matters of Bidah 2. Matters of congratulating non Muslims on their festivals This post would not highlight the detailed explanation of the above but rather would provide a summary of the information herein. Is there anything wrong in decorating a house with balloons during these celebrations? Yes, this is totally incorrect as the one doing so is actually helping the people of innovation or shirk to continue their fun and joy on their evil celebrations. Therefore its not "alright" to do so.
